Boxers win in Tehran

Jenno Cabugngan and Engelbert Moralde trounced their respective rivals late Thursday to advance into the next round of the19th Asian Youth Boxing Championship as the tournament featuring 20 countries and 140 fighters 17-18 years of age kicked off at Tehran’s Shahid Shiroudi Complex in the Iranian capital.
Cabugngan, a 51-kilogram flyweight from Tagbilaran, Bohol, beat his Sri Lankan rival, 8-2, while 48-kilogram light flyweight Engelbert Moralde of Davao City mauled his opponent from Turkestan, 10-2.
